o2 The o2 website for sustainable design supports information and knowledge exchange among designers and entrepreneurs engaged in the development of environmentally sustainable products and services. Its aim is to fill a gap in the information needs of designers and companies.

Archined The architecture site of the Netherlands is the gateway to information on the Internet on architecture, architects, urban design and landscape architecture in the Netherlands. It offers news, agenda's, hundreds of links and extra's.

RUIMTELAB The office of one of the founders of SmartArch. Together with RenÚ Heyne architect Jacques Vink started RUIMTELAB (which translates in to Spacelab). A laboratorium for architectural design and city planning.

Ian Ritchie architects is one of the leading practices in the field of intelligent high-tech architecture. Tip: try to find the threads hard to find but especially interesting.

BEAR Architects is one of the first architectural offices in the Netherlands that concentrate on ecological design.

Norman Foster & Associates Ofcourse Norman Foster has to be part of this list of links. His buildings are however not always as responsive as they seem.

Richard Rogers Partnership: The last few years his practice has responded to growing concerns for the global environment by developing research into energy efficient buildings.

Sustainable Development A comprehensive list of internet sites dealing with sustainable development, including organisations, projects and activities, electronic journals, libraries, references and documents, databases, directories or metadatabases.

Oikos Database of green building products.

Architecture and Building An extensive architecture index. Since 1993, Jeanne Brown from the University of Nevada has collected quality links on a wide variety of subjects. Although the index does not specifically deal with subjects like sustainability and smart architecture, some of the categories will apply to them.

Cyburbia Cyburbia (formerly called PAIRC - The Planning and Architecture Internet Resource Center) contains a comprehensive directory of Internet resources relevant to planning, architecture, urbanism and other topics related to the built environment.

Eco Design The EcoDesign Website is owned and operated by Penner & Associates Interior Design and Susan Morris Specifications Ltd. It focuses on the environmental and social impacts of the building industry, as well as universal access.

Sustainable Design, Development and Policy Resources on the Web If you need information on sustainability and smart architecture, this is the place to start. This site offers a huge amount of links in several broad categories.

Natural Building Resources: National Building Links This is on of the smaller sites mentioned here. It brings you links to sites with the emphasis on natural building materials and techniques.

Solstice: Sustainable Energy and Development Online Solstice is the Internet information service of the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology (CREST). The information on this site is divided into three categories. You can easily access them by clicking on any of the three pictures on the middle of your screen.

Sustainable Architecture, Building and Culture The divisions on this site range from Straw bale constructions to the Principals of Sustainability.

United Nations Environment Programme This UN program focuses on the environment a a whole and not specifically on subjects like sustainability and building. None the less there are plenty of links that apply. You may find information here that you can't find on any of the other sites we mentioned here.

The World Wide Web Virtual Library: Architecture Last but not least, the World Wide Web Virtual Library on Architecture. Like some of the other sites this site deals with architcture in general. But that certainly does not mean there is nothing to be found on smart architecture. Just try the search option and see for yourself.
